Fun in maths!

We worked in pairs this week to work with our cubes and counters during a maths lesson! We think we did really well!

Spring nature walk

This week, our class went on a nature walk around the school to see what signs of spring we could find! 

We looked closely and we could spy some buds on the trees...the leaves are nearly ready to appear!

We also spotted this bird's nest in the trees and we wondered if there are any eggs in it!

A sure sign that spring is here - look at the lovely daffodils!!!

Opening of our school library!

This week, we gathered in the hall for the opening of our school library

A very special visitor came to open it - the Mayor of Galway!!!

She spoke to us and told us how important it is to read. Then we watched as she cut the ribbon to open the library!

Saint Brigid's Day

Friday was Saint Brigid's Day. We were learning about Saint Brigid all week. We listened to stories about her and we made Saint Brigid's Day crosses

Garda Visit

We all assembled in the halla on Thursday to wait for a special visitor...

He showed us his baton, talked to us and answered our questions

Teddy Bear's Hospital

Last week, we brought our sick teddies to the Teddy Bear Hospital, where we met some lovely doctors who were able to treat our teddies and make them feel all better again! We even got to go on a bouncing castle! We had great fun on our day out!

Science Week

Last week was Science Week. We were very lucky as a scientist came in to show us some amazing experiments!
